The Pedalcastertm High E copedent is derived from the popular 10 string Nashville E9th. Most classic country pedal steel parts were played on the E9th. Our copedent has the same high range, but omits the confusing "in between" strings (D, F#) and the high "chromatic" strings (D#, F#). Those notes are all available on pedals and knee levers anyway.

Our High E copedent includes the modern P4 change popularized by Nashville session player Paul Franklin. This pedal extends the low range of the guitar down to A (the 5th string of a standard guitar) and adds two full-step changes to the middle register of the instrument.

While there will always be Nashville effects and licks that require a 10 string pedal steel, the Pedalcastertm High E copedent gives you most of what the big session steelers use on an easy-to-play 6 string instrument.
