The tuning of the Pedalcastertm Open E copedent is just like an E chord on your guitar. If you've ever retuned your guitar to E and played it with a slide, you know this tuning!
Pedals and knee levers are used to change the tuning to other chords, which you can move up and down the neck with the bar. For example, P4 changes the E to an E minor, and at the 5th fret it's an A minor. Pressing P2 and P3 together makes a A chord.
The pedals and knee levers of the Pedalcastertm Open E have been optimized for big chord slide guitar parts. It's a favorite of rock and blues guitarists because those big chords work for rhythm as well as for slide lead guitar.
